Alka: Artuk Bey, from the Oghuz tribe that gave its name to the Artuklu dynasty, was one of the most important commanders of the Great Seljuk Sultan Alp Arslan. When he joined the Seljuk army for the Battle of Malazgirt in 1071, he left behind Ay Hatun, who loved him with all her heart. Pregnant, Ay Hatun released a white dove into the blue sky, vowing to announce the birth of her son, Ilgazi, to Artuk Bey. It represents life, birth, and brings good news. The Alka dove's Artuklu design now comes to life with Luna Merdin.
