Starting now at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, we find ourselves in a breathtaking landscape where mosaics are displayed. These mosaics from the ancient city of Zeugma, with a history spanning nearly 2000 years, are so unique in their design that it's hard not to be captivated. In the museum, among dozens of incredible pieces, you will find many significant works such as the Goddess of Fertility Demeter, Oceanos - Tethys, Perseus - Andromeda, Heracles, Dionysus, the Statue of Mars, and of course, the world-famous Gypsy Girl. This collection, part of one of the world's largest mosaic museums, is a must-see.
Following our route, we arrive at one of the unique structures considered to be water architecture: the Pisirici Mosque and Kastel. Kastels, found only in Gaziantep within Turkish architecture, are now underground structures accessed by stairs. Bearing the characteristics of Seljuk architecture and believed to have been built around 1282, the Pisirici Mosque and Kastel is a marvel of architecture featuring pools and baths, with a ceiling made of carved stone. When you encounter the clear water that has been bubbling for centuries in the very center of the mosque, you won't be able to take your eyes off it. Within walking distance of all the appetizing restaurants, the Kastel will be the most fascinating stop you can make before heading out for delicious food and drinks.
Built in 1909 by tobacco merchant Bayaz Ahmet Efendi, Bayaz Han consists of a large courtyard and a three-story inn surrounding it. After changing hands many times, it has now become a true city museum, with each part reflecting the city's remarkable story. After exploring the inn, which is full of Gaziantep's cultural riches, you can descend to the courtyard with a glass of wine, enjoying the melodies while gazing at the lights dancing on the facade.
Tahmis Coffee House, one of the oldest coffee houses from the Ottoman era, offers its visitors the best possible coffee options within its original architecture. Its reputation has grown since 1635, adding even more value to its coffee, and it continues to welcome locals and foreigners every day. After experiencing all of Gaziantep's history, you will find a state of tranquility here.
